INTERLUX GUIDELINES: TREATMENT OF ANTIFOULING CONTAMINATED WITH OIL

The surface of an antifouling paint that has become contaminated with oil can become “blocked” i.e preventing the biocide from being released, which subsequently leads to premature fouling. It will also result in a contaminated layer that will make adhesion of new antifouling applications difficult.

Hi Jim.....I have been away from this area for 10 years.....have no boating or fishing contacts except for family.....wife is now going thru her 3rd lung cancer episode since I bought my boat so my boating has been put on hold.....hopefully temporarily.....did go out with grandson fishing last friday 7/29/2011 and returned with one trout.....so I'm looking for more info on boating & fishing in Vero Beach area....Roland
