Click the Community tab then select Groups in
the drop down list.
The Groups main page appears.
Click the Add a Group link at the top-right
of the Groups page.
The Add a Group page opens.
Enter the required Group Information in the
appropriate text boxes.
You need to give your group a Name and Group
Address (meaning the group's main URL).
Include an image to go along with your new
group.
Ning requires that you add an image; try to
find an image that relates to the topic of the group.
Include any optional information that you
want to.
You can input a Description, Website (which
means a page outside Ning), and Location (which you use if your
group is based in some geographical area).
Select the features that you want to add to
the group.
You can include Comments, Discussion Forum,
Text Box (which lets you include a text box below the group
information, allowing you to include more details, images, videos,
and so on), and RSS Reader.
Select the appropriate Privacy option.
Anyone gives anybody in the network the
ability to join the group at will. Moderated Membership makes the
group membership a moderated process, giving you more control over
who joins.
Select Messages if you want members to be
able to send messages to the entire group.
This setting gives the group some of the
functionality of a mailing list.
Click Add Group.
A confirmation message appears.
Invite other members to join the group.
If you prefer, you can choose to invite
members later by clicking the Skip link.
